Biometrics ID for Governments

The mission of the Biometric Center of Excellence (BCOE) is to foster collaboration amongst the biometric and identity communities, improve information sharing and advance the adoption of biometric and identity management solutions not only in the FBI, but across the criminal justice and national security communities as well. 

The technology landscape for identity management has not only grown but the standardizations surrounding it are constantly changing. Agencies across the board are being challenged with meeting requirements to meet future government challenges.

This session will outline three key points regarding integration strategies, decreasing error rates and restricted degrees of freedom faced at the FBI:

• How the BCOE develops biometric prototypes, pilots and toolsets while testing and evaluating these biometric technologies
• Understanding promotion and development of biometric “best practices” for user compliance
• Learning what research and development involved in exploring biometric and identity management solutions
